>>1745965I think I angered some forest spirits
>day 1>head to local woods to shoot some photos>find a duckling skeleton amid some wild cranberry>think it's neat so I snap a few photos>head deeper into wood>this land is public but trails are rarely used and poorly maintained>decide to clear the trails as I go cause if I don't nobody else will>cut tree branches that are extending into the trail as I go >stop to take pictures now and then>finish the loop and notice my lens cap is missing>it's getting dark so decide to pack it in for the day >plan to come back and look for the lens cap another day>day 2>similar plan; snap photos and retrace my steps>stop at duck skeleton to retake photos since they came out blurry last time>as soon as try taking the photo my camera dies>charged it right before I left home so sort of weird>take pic related with phone instead>walk the same loop hacking away at obstructive branches same as last time>stop at locations I had taken photos the day before to look for cap>finish loop without finding the cap>get back to car and notice uv filter on camera is scratched>wut it was in my bag the whole time>take this as my second warningI'm scared to go back now. It's not hard for me to rationalize these events, but I'm still feeling uneasy.
My friend's mom believes there are gnomes in these woods. She's definitely a bit cooky but I'm starting to believe her.
What offering should I bring to appease the spirits?
This was in rural Maine.
