I hate cleft graft. not saying it's a bad technique, because others have great success, but I never got it to work even once and gave up. On the other hand I have great success on rind grafting. If the rootstock is too small I'll whip and tongue graft, otherwise rind graft every time, it's great.

I field graft so I keep an eye on the forecast and graft when the temperature is getting above 12 degrees for at least a few hours in the day and not below 5 degrees.
