I just need a better method to weigh down the plastic. While they have survived 50mph wind gusts, the 3mil plastic started to tear. The 1-2 inch tear sections occur where the plastic was folded over on the roll from the factory. The tears also only occur on the end where the wind blasts it the hardest in the middle. I'll eventually replace the 3mil with 6mil plastic and develop wind breaks.
This potato row is about 40 feet/12 meters long and about 40 inches/1 meter wide. The plastic was about $33USD and the conduit pipes were about $22USD. So, about $55 for roughly 133 square feet/40 square meters of growing space. I have 6 beds covered in one garden ($330) and 4 shorter beds covered in another garden ($200). So, roughly 978 square feet/298 square meters of grow space for about $530 ($0.54 per square foot or $1.77 per square meter).
