Go get a cabelas cgr, glass is great for beginners for ease of casting and durability, itll break down to ~2 feet, get an echo base reel to put on it, and a scientific anglers fly line who's number matchesthe rod (5 weight rod, 5 weight line)
Then get a spool of #20 mono, #15 mono, #10 mono; then get a spool of 6x tippet, 5x tippet, 4x tippet, and 3x tippet. That will let you tie yourself a large number of leaders. Then get some general flies and go to town, orvis has great recourses for techniques and how to cast.
