>>1834461I shoot a 60 pound long bow with no sight and I was shooting once a week for a couple hours at a time. My backstop behind my shitty small target is a raked and mulched embankment alongside a municipal soccer field since I don’t have a yard and my local range was closed/not comfy with the new safety conditions. The soil is very very rocky so every now and then when I miss the arrow will penetrate through the mulch layer and smack a rock in such a way the point telescopes into the shaft. Despite my arrows eating shit, it’s still cheaper than range time and I get to have some solitude instead of listening to newbies smacking their arms and talking about whatever is going on in their lives. I’m just cheap and hate the idea of paying for arrows when I could make them with some practice.
