I've worn hoodies and jeans (layers and longjohns in the winter) for a week in the woods before and been fine, but it is rough and you can't do the same thing's as if you were well prepared.
I usually have:
>REI water resistant puffy jacket (just takes a bit longer to get wet) that cost me $50>Nike combat shirts that make a great underlayer>two Tek Layer long sleeve shirts that are breathable but warm. >pair of gym shorts for around the camp/warmer non-bush days/swimming>Lots of socks.>Somewhat waterproof hiking boots and old sneakers. Sneakers are more comfortable for around camp and lighter days and space isn't really an issue, just shove them in your pack
