They do range from $10 thin jagged stamped katanas to higher priced well finished knives that people seem to like. I've handled/inspected but not tested their higher end knives.
Diminishing returns are a thing, absolutely. That's sort of why I was suggesting the Terava stuff. I personally think the price for what you get is very reasonable.
