Very possible I simply wound up accidentally trespassing and some old man sicced their dog on me, but the eeriness and fear through the whole situation was something I've never felt before or again.
I later looked at satellite imagery and based on approximations of where I was, there were no formal dwellings in a nearby vicinity.
