>>1346580So you're gonna build a First Aid Kit. Probably the best place to start is to simply buy one off-the-shelf--I prefer one of those larger ones meant for 3-5 people for a weekend or so. Those packs usually have a decent supply of bandages and gauze and other sorts of essentials.
The very first thing you should do once you get this pack is disassemble it. Lay out every single piece of kit in that pack on the floor and take inventory over what you've got and what you don't, if the pack doesn't already have some inventory paper tap on it or printed on the back of the thing. Once you've taken down inventory, take out what you don't need. It's a good idea that you should at least be familiar with all the bits and pieces inside of your First Aid Kit--after all, a tourniquet is only good if you know how to use the damn thing; otherwise it's just bulk.
