>>485063Hey, I'm out in Rapid City SD. I spend quite a bit of time out in the hills. Mountain Lions are pretty much a non issue. I've seem mountain goats, big horn sheep, and all sorts of deer. No traces of lions. You'll be fine. It's still cold AF out here at night and we expect at least one more snow storm before summer is here.
In your budget, don't forget entry fees at the Badlands and Custer. Black hills is open though. Check out Spearfish Canyon and Harney Peak, great areas.
