This weekend was pretty interesting. It snowed on Friday so I went out with a box full of nymphs and streamers but found myself in the middle of a big mayfly hatch with fish eating off the surface all over the place. I only managed to catch a couple on the few emerger flies I brought along. This was also a tailwater I normally don't fish and I struggled to cast longer distances than I was used to. This probably wasn't helped by me bringing along my slower action fiberglass rod instead of my faster action graphite rod.
