>>1809471a poncho, a one man shelter, a hunting blind, a tarp, a groundsheet, a flotation device, a summer blanket, an added air pocket to retain heat in winter
they cut the wind really well in winter, make great summer shelters/blankets, break up the silhouette when hunting, actually work pretty good if you fill it with dry grass and use it to float on water with though that isn't very stable
the downside is when used as a poncho they get really stiff and if you're over 5'10 the shelter size is pretty small, if you plan to be up and moving around the stiffness when wet is a bit annoying but still far more durable and easier to patch than a regular pvc/nylon poncho since you can sew or iron on waterproof patches
i like mine, it makes a nice no-frills lowpro quick pitch shelter and works well enough as a poncho, the sound of rain on canvas is so comfy too
