>>809593Those cricket hoppers are little guys (at least the ones I own and have seen) but maybe you could find some slightly larger ones if you look around.
>>809584So as far as hard baits (not including spinners) I like the suspending jerk baits a lot. Rapala Husky Jerks are always a good standby. But I'm a huge fan of the Rapala X-Raps. They are like the Husky Jerks but come in different colors and I think have a little more action. I like Rapala Scatter Raps too, they will float and then dive shallow-medium when you reel them in. The Orginal Rapalas are always solid for a floating and shallow diving bait.
I have been getting into Yo-Zuris a bit more. Their suspending minnows are nice in the limited use I have gotten from them. And the Yo-Zuri Crystal Minnows are supposed to be GOAT. They are like an Original Rapala where they float when not moving and dive shallow-mid depths when retrieved. I bought 3 last weekend when they finally went on sale for less than $11ea but haven't used them.
In the pic, the left 2 columns are Rapala X-Raps. Bottom row of 4 are Rapala Scatter Raps (or maybe Shad Raps? Can't remember but they come in an orange box IIRC). Top right is the 3 Yo-Zuri Crystal Minnows. Bottom right is the two Yo-Zuri Supending Minnow Jerkbaits.
If you want to save a lil money, wait for free shipping at Bass Pro and grab a bunch of their XPS lures. Their crankbaits and poppers and stuff aren't bad at all for the low price. Just don't buy the XPS inline spinners, they suck.
