the hackney marshes area before it was turned into Stafford westfeild and olympic park. Full of industrial units, chemical storage and rubbish filled canals. Years of waste and pollution accumulated there. They had to remove a lot of the contaminated topsoil so it was safe to build the park there. I guess theres also a fair bit of air pollution, but nowhere as bad as in the past.
