>>2026277I put out garden leftovers and a coffee can with a sign saying "take what you want give what you want" every year when I'm too lazy to preserve anymore or I get backed up and can't can anymore. Zero interaction and decent money, but it is important to realize that you will occasionally be stolen from so collect the money fairly regularly.
>>2026327It's important to remember that the older your spawn gets the less productive it will be. You can definitely reuse it a couple of times, but there really is no great way around fresh spawn long term. What I plan to do with my tub after a couple fruitings is to drill holes in fallen logs in a nearby park and pack them full of sawdust in an attempt to spread wild oysters around the area. One thing I have been told by an old grower who got me started is that when reusing spent substrate as spaw you should always step down your substrate quality to avoid contamination. I'm going to put whatever is left of my spent substrate after the log inoculation into straw bales in the garden to see if I can grow them that way.
