>>801040I've been doing really well with "Sprayed Grass" by Zoom and Culprit has a similar color called "Bama ____" and I like those in medium clarity water. They stand out against the green and brown vegetation on the bottom of the lakes. Even in cleae water, if I'm running through some grass on the bottom I like those blacks and blues. In lakes where I can see the lure in the water, I understand why they go crazy for it when the black claws are sticking up from the green grass.
And "Chartruese Pepper" is pretty great too and even works well in clear water. Bass just love that color and I don't understand it.
Natural colors work sometimes, but it normally needs a little extra to stand out for the bass to go for them here. I don't really fish anywhere super murky but the darker stuff works for me in the medium clarity lakes and in grass/weeds in more clears places; and chartruese works in open clear water for some reason.
As for the line, depends on the fish but bass aren't really line shy so I can fish red braid and never have an issue without a flouro leader.
