My plan is to thru-hike the AT SOBO (MA-->GA) following my graduation from college in the spring of 2015.
So far, I plan to go it alone. I also plan on using a hammock for the entire trail.
Frankly, I believe none of the myths that I hear about the AT. The crazy, backwoods murderers etc. are nothing more than stories that people cook up to frighten people. So my only fears of doing it are ticks and getting caught in a surprise lightning or snow storm.
