I don't know how much experience OP or anyone else here has in wildlife, but Texas A&M has a wildlife job board that is pretty good.

If you're working /out/ all day, that usually means you are at the bottom of the totem pole and don't get to make any meaningful decisions. I chose my field to make a difference, and that requires desk work. Plus, I've found that I begin to loathe the places I work in when /out/ because it starts becoming a chore. It is extremely difficult to recreate while working.
