Noob tea farmer here, decided to finally try my hand at growing some mint again and bought a raspberry cutting on a whim when I went to pick up the seeds. Last attempt was four years ago with catnip and what grew out of the pot was not catnip (no idea what it was) and aggressively repopulated the pot when weeded. Trumpbux came in so I figured I'd try again to have something to keep me sane while stuck indoors.
Spearmint was planted from seeds and just barely covered by the soil (about 1cm max) and I followed planting instructions for the raspberry, shortly soaking the roots in a clay pot before planting it in the soil, spreading the roots (not much, I was afraid I would break them) and giving it about one to two inches of topsoil above them. Planting was no more than two hours ago.
Climate is KS-MO border. It's been wet and cold but they're in the attic beside a window facing east. Spearmint pots are the two 12" clay planters in saucers in the pic. Anyone have tips on taking care of these or can give me the odds at their survival as is, assuming proper care? Current plan is to water the raspberry until the soil is moist once a week and the spearmints as the soil dries out. Gave the raspberry about a gallon of water like the instructions said and the spearmints got enough until damp.
