Mine is brass which only enhances the ole timey feels.
The only two plus sides i can really think of is the light isn't very harsh which is nice, and it'll last 8+ hours. (maybe 9 or 10 tbh), I like to go to sleep with one of these things as a night light cause the boogey man obviously wont go near a light source and even if this shit tips over or falls off the chain, it's surrounded drop resistant glass to put out the flame, all doubles as windshield.
