2) If path is already made, lighter and thinner skis are better.
3) Different types of waxing have different types of effects in different types of snow (= snow in certain temperature). You can save a lot of energy by choosing the right type waxing.
4) Skiing is physically demanding, remember to take some food and sports drinks with you if you do long distances with pauses. Also, keeping warm during a pause is nice, having a down/feather jacket (= warm, light extra jacket) really makes the difference here.
