>>1730033Gonna side with Jas on this one, sure, he could have done a proper job with his research, however your average frontiersman probably has the same general amount of knowledge about building and tools as he does. He's a historical re-enactor, sharing his passion with the world, hes bound to be wrong on some things, as most historians are from time to time, whether intentional or not.
The way I see it, he's a historical cook thats branching out into other parts, instead of being confined to cooking, and has about as much knowledge on other topics as you would expect someone from that era would. Yes, there are specialized tools in every single profession, but unless its your trade, you probably wont use nor need them. Your average person wont have 55 different kinds of cooking knives , nor know their names. but they can still get the job done, just like you can build a log cabin with just a hatchet, if you really wanted to that is.
But I get where you're coming from, watching someone giving bad or wrong information sucks when you cant go "ACKSHULLY" and correct them, its part and parcel for life.
