With spinning reels, I have read to leave ~1/8" of room left on the spool. I normally leave a tiny bit more so I don't end up with a huge mess. What's the rule of thumb with baitcasters?
Box said this reel will hold 140yds of 30lb braid. I had a 125yd spool of 20lb and put the whole thing on. Pretty full, but not overboard. Am I asking for problems like with a spinning reel or can you top off the baitcasters? Should I take ~10yds off?
