While in many areas it would be safe to assume this is where some tourist spat out some seeds and they sprouted, in this region they grow natively. We have several varieties of wild grape; the most common produce grapes roughly the size of a blueberry which are very tart, while others produce big, black grapes that are also very tart, but quite delicious.
Please be aware of poisonous look-alikes which grow in many parts of North America, such as moonseed. Moonseed looks like a wild grape, except the vine lacks tendrils, and the seeds are shaped like a crescent moon (hence the name) rather than the typical shape of grape seeds. If there's any doubt as to the identity of a wild plant, don't fucking eat it.
