Waterproof containers keeping it simple and low cost Ziploc freezer bags, trash bags, used film canisters (ask at the local photo center), and pill bottles (ask the local chemist) go a long way. These will work for spices tinder hooks matches and anything else you can think of. Small cheep tins work as well electrical tape the rim.
