Also if its higher quality wool woven the right way (some deisgns are itchier than others) if feels fine against my skin. When you start to weave in poly or nylon or acrylic into wool it starts to become less breatheable but is usually a bit more durable. Just recently bought one of these. Excellent quality, not itchy and paired with a lightweight down jacket keeps me toasty but breathable in extreme temp. I like the simple design, shawl collar gives extra warmth, no buttons or zippers to fail, if taken care of properly should last many decades.
