Probably a KLR 650 with the 685 bigbore in it.
685 makes the ride a lot smoother, and gives you a little more power at elevation.

It's not a singletrack-eating lightweight enduro bike by any stretch of the imagination. It's not a big comfortable adventure-touring bike either. It's an ugly bike that gets it done and won't.fucking.die.
This is assuming you don't do something dumb like starve it of oil or totally neglect any maintenance.
You could probably talk to Christini and for enough money see what they could do about a 2WD kit for them. I don't think they make a kit for the KLR right now.
Rokons ... while they are tractors and will go through just about anything, they're fucking slow and uncomfortable as hell for anything more than tractoring up a hill. If you want to go anywhere fast, you're on the wrong vehicle.
I gotta say I've been really happy with my KTM though.
