Boars also represent one of the few primordial beasts of prey to humans that’s is still tremendously plentiful when compaired to other dangerous prey. We don’t have mammoths anymore, bison are no longer plentiful as they were, etc. one can argue that you could go for pumas and bear for dangerous game in America, but they are very much less populated, and are solitary creatures that serve a good purpose in the environment.
Feral boars offer us LARPers in America to feel very primal and at the same time it’s not as frowned on as taking other dangerous game.
