>>957717>fixed spoolYou mean spinning reel? Generally, yes. They are easier to use, reliable, and you can cast lighter baits and lures with them as long as you run light enough line.
If you are going to fish that trout place, the smaller lures will be really tough to cast on something like that Black Max combo. Reels like the Black Max are best suited for bass lures and other baits around 1/4oz-1oz (so 7g+ up to 30g).
Baitcasters are great and all but a little more complicated to use and not as versitile. A 30 or 3000 size spinning reel on a M rod and 6lb-10lb mono line will work for most freshwater species.
