Just a heads-up for Michigan deer hunters; the DNR has revised the rules for firearm hunting in the shotgun / handgun only zone (roughly anywhere south of Saginaw) and now allows rifles chambered in (straight sided, .357 or larger) handgun cartridges to be used in the southern part of the state.
Thus instead of a shotgun or revolver, one can use something like a lever-action Marlin M1894 chambered in .44 Mag.
