i tried it. pic related. complete waste. i did a bunch of research on what was the most efficient version of can stoves and fuel and ended up making a penny stove with heet in the yellow bottle for fuel. i even made windscreen/chimney's for it to improve its heat transfer, and it was still terrible. 7 minutes, iirc, just to bring 500 ml of water to a boil. i don't know how long it would sustain it, but it used up most of the fuel in the process, so i can't imagine it would be very long.
