Another pair I have is Garmont T8. Multiple versions exist from ultra light weight, jungle, to goretex, and goretex insulated. They are lighter and offers decent stability and grip. They use this steel ball bearing hoop thing at the ankles to keep tension on the laces to keep them tight, which I find worked well for long marches. Others that I have bought were Danners, and they make good stuff overall in general I find. If you want these kind of boots, I wouldn't buy the most generic stuff you find for cheap on Amazon or anything like that. Most of them are bad and will just fall apart. Also break in period can be brutal but hot water dunk usually does the trick fast.
>tl;dr milspec doesn't mean what you think it means and really look into what people like to wear before getting a pair.
