Frogs are designed to be snag proof so you gotta rip the fuck out of it to set the hook. If you're not breaking that 10 pound line on the hookset you're not setting the hook hard enough to move the rubber and bury the hooks. Stretch is another factor. Tie a rubber band to a hook and use that to try and seat the point through cardboard, you'll see the problem.
The relatively thin diameter helps too because when the fish is wrapped around 17 pounds of vegetation the heavy braid won't care so much, itll rip through and make a connection.
5 seconds is also a little long to wait, I seldom wait more than 2.
>hit>give slack>"yippee ">send fische to orbit with an atomic hookset>I usually only have the one rodIt's easy to bring two, and honestly my frog stick is one of my "I'm just taking one rod" rods cause I'll have one rod and one or two frogs and be all set.
>>2764878>floro doesn't stretchThat's actually a misnomer, flouro stretches less than mono but it still has ~15-25% stretch depending on the brand.
>>2764882Mono has a time and place, but mostly as either leaders, or as running line on shooting head setups.
