Step 2: Completely saturate the garment with silicone spray, holding the can about six inches from the jacket. Make sure to especially get everywhere you're going to have trouble reaching with the bar of wax, such as behind buttons, behind the edges of pockets, along zippers, etc. Once the entire garment has been treated, allow it to dry outside for four hours.
Step 3: Repeat step 2, spraying everything down with silicone, then allow it to dry for another four hours.
Silicone alone will not waterproof your jacket, it only makes it water resistant; you can walk from your car to a building in the rain and remain mostly dry, but anything longer than that is eventually going to soak through.
