I go on southwest trips often, usually early spring or late fall, and It's kind of a tradition at this point that every time I'm in Arizona I experience the coldest, snowiest conditions of my trip, usually at the Grand Canyon. It's not like I don't visit any other similarly or even higher elevation locations but for whatever reason luck has it that it's always snowing whenever I go to the Grand Canyon. Arizona is synonymous with snow and cold to me at this point.
I've also wanted to climb Humphreys Peak for years now but every time I was prevented because I wasn't prepared to climb in winter conditions, finally decided to just say fuck it and do it a few weeks ago when I was there, started snowing mid hike and it was blizzard conditions up at the ridge.
