Today I realized that I'm in deep trouble with my 20 or so tomato plants. Went to the hardware store, got a bunch of terracotta pots and soil. Too bad those 20L (~5 gallons) of soil ran out faster my PC runs out of memory using Chrome. I also need to take my car for repairs tomorrow morning. Guess I'll just haul 60L of soil in our strollers.
Now my problem is lightning, there just isn't enough of it and it'll take at least a month until the weather is warm enough for taking anything outside. A plant store near me is selling SPNA and ESL bulbs. Right now I'm looking at 125W ESL with blue spectrum. It's around 50 bucks with the reflector that has an E40 slot. Anyone here have experience with such things? Right now I'm running one T5 54W lamp and one that's 30W E27.
Not quite related but what do you think of soil that has been fertilized using faeces? I heard that the water purification plant gives away some sort of soil compound to be used in gardens made from the waste they process. From my understanding it's handled in a way that makes it safe for such use. It's a public company in the Nordics so I'm quite confident they know what they are doing.
