An acre is 43,000 square feet. You need at least 900,000 calories a year. Do the math.
In a garage space you could grow lots of high-value stuff like lettuce, herbs, and other small plants but you'll never get calories from such a small area for more than a few meals. Those leafy greens and herbs also grow better under grow lights than calorie-heavy crops like potatoes and corn do, grow lights only really work well for greens that are inherently low-calorie.
You COULD try to get some strawberry setup and get a decent yield of strawberries to sell / trade other people for more valuable things, some countries plant their strawberries in gutters, harvest them, then move the plants into coolers to force them to start growing more berries immediately, either that or herb selling would be your best bet for such a tiny area.
And yeah, mushrooms (both the drug and the food) are also high-value and if you just dedicated a whole garage to them and sold them you would make a decent amount of money.
Calories are impossible for small indoor areas.
