>>1811555You won't do any of that shit in the guard. The most /out/ thing you'll do is set up giant tents and barbed wire then sit around in the rain and mud until your leadership finally gets their shit together and you do a few hours of training related to your MOS.
That's maybe 2-3 times a year, and you only practice with firearms when you qualify once a year, the rest of the time you'll be at the armory doing jack shit. You're giving up a weekend a month and two weeks out of your summer every year for 5-6 years to play army man, time that can be spent doing actual /out/ activities. Even when you're not at drill that shit's always at the back of your mind creeping up on you, and can really fuck with plans and travel. I don't recommend it.
