>>1191564Don't get me wrong, a nice buckskin jerkin or moccasins is certainly a good choice, but only for people who can actually afford to maintain and replace these clothes or live in an area with abundant hides or not much weaving and processing (e.g. pre agrarian hunter gatherer native americans) - the kind of soft buckskin clothes used to be made out of would have worn through very quickly, as well as had all of the performance issues I mentioned, and provided minimal warmth - it's just a little tougher and more waterproof than cotton and looks nice.
>Things that benefit from leather:archery vambraces, leather gaiters and boots, belt straps, bag hardwear and straps, gloves, protective aprons, motorcycle wear, heat resistant wear, riding protection, looking badass in front of the Eiffel Tower in WW2, being a character in a movie etc
>Things that don't benefit:Quickdrying breathable layers, wicking layers, removable washable clothes, ease-of-movement loose clothes, cold weather gear, lightweight long distance gear, raingear, quiet hunting gear that doesn't swish, smell or creak
