>>1009165Yeah, you should be fine with rust. The transfer cases are one of the first things to go on old(er) 4x4s since they're rarely actually used. this means gear neglect and the oil that's allowed to stagnate. If the 4x4 system works, it should be fine. It's not THAT old anyway.
3.5 (or 3.4?) V6 is good enough for offroading. Ferd Exploder had the 5.0 V8 - 4runners don't have a V8 option. Did the US get the I-4 turbodiesel? Because if you did, that could be another alternative to the V6 (but then you'll be paying tay yoda AND diesel tax).
