The secret is to start checking the 'heavy equipment/commercial' vehicle used market and buy a box truck/dump truck.
Not only do they hold literal tons more weight and volume so you won't be making 5 trips back and forth especially when we're talking long distance one-way trips, you can find them for under $10k e-z because they aren't daily driver vehicles - they're completely task oriented. Commercial market is always turning over their shit because they can amortize and write off the values and want the newest stuff to work 100% of the time and impress clients.
So stop looking for pickups. First hit in my local market for example; F-700 diesel box truck - runs drives even has a tommy gate - $4000
