If you want a beginner backpack experience, look into the Mohican park and pack sites. They’re campsites that are about a mile away from parking, used for getting people into backpacking and it’s pretty cool. You can link up longer approaches too if you want.
Another good spot for camping is Hocking Hills state park. By far the best park in the state, it has all sorts of car camping/rv sites, along with a “family” camping area where you park in a parking lot and carry your stuff to your primitive campsites. Tons to do at Hocking Hills
