My uncle works for the railroad, he gets these things. They work well and still look kinda aesthetic. They make led versions that probably would suffice. I don't know why you need a lamp in your tent. I only sleep in my tent. If I need a light I use a flashlight as it's much easier to turn off/on. Maybe just bring a tarp and make a rainfly to use your lantern in and like read or whatever you want to do.
