Leases do nothing but go up every year. More out of state big-shots come in and slap down stupid amounts of money to hunt on good land because the land in their state is botched. They come on and let nothing walk, which damages it for everyone.
Then in response, the few locals who still are paying for shit band together and lower the number of guys that can be on a plot to a point where - you guessed it - the demand goes up because the supply dwindles.
So land owners again, just keep raising the price because there's an endless stream of fools who keep paying.
Meanwhile those who literally don't want to put down a minimum of $1,000 annually to have just the OPPORTUNITY to go hunting say 12 weeks out of the year are forced onto the WMA if they want to even go. Go figure the WMA's overhunted to the point of extinction because again, leases keep skyrocketing with no end in site.
At the end, the only thing that happens is it drives people away from the sport, because who the fuck wants to get involved with all that shit, spend all that money, only to get the tiniest opportunity to enjoy what is naturally there in the first place?
