>>2240323I can recommend the standard UCO single candle lantern but I cannot recommend the 3-candle Candelier. It fails all the time and once the spring expands hot wax dumps out everywhere. For me it failed about 70% of the time I used it, it was a fucking nightmare. It got super hot and indeed I used it to keep a small bedroom somewhat cozy one winter, but having it fail and waste candles was a mess and expensive. I also did the work already crunching the numbers, finding any suitable candle, even from aliexpress and church supply shops, ends up being more expensive than the UCO brand and still wouldn't be the right fit.
In the end, I had to abandon my beloved Candelier because it just wasn't reliable at all even though I wanted it to be. I also ended up dumping the regular UCO because even that failed about 20% of the time dumping hot wax onto my sleeping bag at night.
For light, go with a tealight lantern. The comfiest is the little brass Coghlan's lantern but the UCO mini is awesome as well. If you don't need to worry about fumes get a Feuerhand baby or Deitz mini hurricane lantern, absolute best lanterns period.
For heat you're up shit creek, the Candelier is 5000BTUs and nothing else compares but you'll regret it eventually.
