>>131248Why all the hostility?
> Weenies like you are taking all the fun out of the outdoorsYou can enjoy your camping regardless of what 'preppers' are doing. Their activity doesn't affect you. I said I wasn’t a prepper. I just have a bag with excess camping gear.
I only have one day a week, possibly two to take off. I am going to school and working full time. I wanted to take things slow at first, not jump headfirst into a week long hike. I will be out one night and two days. Next time I will go two nights and take it from there.
>>131257>Wire SawI will keep it with me for this trip to see how it goes. I am leaning towards taking it out of the bag. but I want to try the trick where you notch both ends of a stick and use it as a hand held saw. (Pic related, not my drawing)
>ragsI might just go with a bandana
>Duct tapeThey are compressed by wrapping the tape around a straw, so they don't take up too much room. I will see how much I actually use during this trip so that I can cut back next trip. Everyone made duct tape to be the ultimate multi tool gift from god.
>Fleece blanket not woolGotcha
>2.5 gallonsIt is collapsible, so I don't need to fill it up all of the way. I have Iodine and those 99.99999% water filters.
>Cottonpotentially stupid question, are most t-shirts cotton? Could you give me an example of non-cotton clothes?
>Ditchin the ponchoGot it
>CPR ShieldBut I am professional help. I work in the medical field and am certified in CPR. A bandana can work just as well to keep vomit out of my mouth, but will not help with blood. HIV is not on my ‘to get’ list.
>Cleaning cutsI have antibiotic ointment, forgot to mention it.
I will get some Bug repellent.
>>131269I will fill up my collapsible container with 1-2 liters and then sanitize/filter water there.
Thanks for the input. I will take pitchas and report back to this thread tomorrow.
