These pants would be damn near perfect if it weren't for the side pockets being oriented in a way that when you sit or bend your legs even slightly the pockets are oriented upside down. AND ONE FUCKING BUTTON DOES'T KEEP SHIT FROM EXITING THEM! The side pockets aren't much better. I don't know how anyone thought this was a smart idea especially aimed at skateboarders.
Realistically if you are hiking you probably aren't using pants pockets much compared to a sack or fanny pack anyways though. Overall pic related 5/10. Probably worse to most people but I'm a corporate whore for Adidas. These have treated me well but minus not keeping anything smaller than a gun magazine in the pockets. Seriously I've sent some emails to Adidas about these side pockets and wanting the name of the fucking retard who wanted to put them that way but no reply. If anything you think angling them forward would be better. The only other cargo pants I have are some generic similar style but I've had to resew buttons on it a few times over the years. I can't confidently recommend these but god damn it they still seam to be my goto. 5.11 pants seem to feel like swim suit trunk material, at least the kind I tried and I cant handle that shit. They say it helps with swamp ass but not mine.
