Yes, it was based. Somehow my fur and wool bedroll was warmer and comfier than my fancy synthetic and foam bivy, even if it was pretty heavy. Clothes didn’t stink to high heavens, didn’t get burned and looked good a little dirty too. My pack strap did snap but I used pretty weak twine. Going all wool and leather was very comfy and I didnt overheat or feel sweaty like I do in synths but it took a while to dry once wet, maybe I should add more lanolin and oils since I hear modern wool is pretty depleted of it. I used bottle gourds which were maximum comfy and looked awesome, nice to drink from too, but it got heavy on a long march. I’m sure I could find a lighter setup, maybe more efficient wool and fur (I hear good things about possum fur) and lighter wood, and more multipurpose items. I missed ziplocks and a light rainshell though, my waxed canvas leaked and was heavy. Still took a Steel cookpot and a lighter but maybe I could go firestrike or bowdrill and cook on a rock or make a stew in some wet bark or something for maxx caveman
