however I don't know the river you are on, your boat, or your skill level. If you are a competent soloist on lakes you should be ok, but if you haven't run the river with someone else at least once I would suggest doing so. Rivers can get shallow in spots and you can get going much faster than you'd think, hitting a rock can put a hole in your boat. It can also have lots of hazards, running into a fallen branch can easily kill you.
know about dams, wears, and falls ahead of time, everything else can be dealt with as it comes up and conditions will change day to day / week to week.
