But the benefits are that you get significantly less line twist, the mainline goes directly to the spool so for deep water stuff or super long casts a baitcaster will be more sensitive to a light bite, they also lend themselves to have a much higher gear ratio than spinning reels, baitclicker features are a huge quality of life improvement if you're catfishing or carp fishing, they're slightly faster than a spinning reel to recast after a retrieve, and finally you can be a little more accurate and a little softer casting a lure with a baitcaster because you're able to control the speed at which the lures flying out there with your thumb on the spool and make them slow down and land softer in the water. I just joined baitcaster gang a few weeks ago. I use big ass ones for flathead catfishing. But I never used a bass baitcaster before. I love mine. I feel like I have a much better feel and connection with my bait. The reel also doesn't oscillate while you spin the handle, meaning the handle crank is the same consistent speed throughout. So I've found it really easy to control the movement of my baits just by reeling different ways. It's opened up some new presentations for me.
